With a mandate to exhibit and disseminate photography and media art, emphasizing contemporary practices within a context of historical and international art-making, The Polygon Gallery organizes national and international exhibitions, produces award-winning publications, and offers engaging public events and art education programs. Some of the world’s most important artists, both local and international, have been featured at the Gallery—from acclaimed Vancouver visual artists Stan Douglas and Ian Wallace to leading international figures such as Hiroshi Sugimoto and Annette Kelm.
In the early 1990s Presentation House Gallery identified the need to relocate to a new or renovated facility in order to better deliver its exhibitions and programs to a dedicated, and growing, audience. Presentation House Gallery’s new home, to be named The Polygon Gallery in honour of its lead donor and the company he built, will open on the waterfront in 2017 and will elevate a world-class Gallery’s facility to a level equal with its reputation.
In addition to generous campaign support, TD Bank will act as Presenting Sponsor of the Canadian Contemporary Exhibition Series for The Polygon Gallery’s first five years.
